Signature Tours FAQ

What should I bring on my Signature Tour?

Bring comfortable clothes, water, and sunscreen for daytime tours. For stargazing and Bio Bay experiences, bring layers if it gets cool, and insect repellent that is DEET-free to protect sensitive ecosystems.

Are these tours suitable for beginners?

Yes — all Signature Tours are designed for adults of all experience levels. No prior off-road or stargazing experience is needed. Guides are with you every step of the way.

Is prior kayaking experience required for Bio Bay or Mangrove tours?

No. All kayak tours are beginner-friendly with easy-to-manage kayaks. Guides show you the basics before departing and are nearby throughout the tour.

How long are the tours?

Sunrise Coastal Ride: - 2 hours

Mangrove Passage + Private Beach Meal: - 3 hours

Stargazing Experience: - 1.5–2 hours

Private Bio Bay Experience: - 2 hours

(Exact times include check-in and guided transitions.)

What are the age recommendations?

Most tours are adult-focused; contact us for age guidelines if traveling with teens. For Bio Bay and stargazing, younger guests are welcome with adult supervision.

How far in advance should I book?

Signature Tours are intentionally limited in capacity and often sell out — especially around peak travel seasons and new moons. We recommend booking as early as possible.

Is the bioluminescent glow always visible?

The glow comes from microscopic organisms that light up when the water is disturbed. It’s most vivid on dark nights — especially around new moon phases — and can vary with weather and moonlight.

Can I swim or touch the water during the Bio Bay tour?

Swimming is prohibited in Mosquito Bay to protect the delicate ecosystem. Guests typically paddle and may dip a hand or paddle to see the glow but do not swim.

What if weather affects my tour?

Tours generally operate in light rain. If conditions are unsafe (high winds, storms), we’ll contact you to reschedule or refund per our policy.

Why choose a guided tour versus going alone?

Guided tours have permitted access, safety gear, local expertise, ecological education, and the best timing for experiences like stargazing and Bio Bay glow — all delivered with certified guides.

The bioluminescence is brightest when the moon is not full — especially around new moon or when moonlight is minimal. Many operators avoid tours during the night before, the night of, and the night after a full moon due to regulations and visibility loss.
